An Olympic Legacy for Women.

London is bidding to host the Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2012.

After the success of the Games in Athens this summer, there is now an opportunity to ensure that the issues of importance to women across the UK are considered in the planning of London's Olympic and Paralympic Legacy.

London 2012 and the Women's Sports Foundation, supported by the Greater London Authority, are working together to offer a chance for London's women to come together and find out about the London 2012 bid, ask questions, and identify areas where women's issues could be more clearly addressed.

Delivered in partnership between the London 2012 Forum and the Women's Sports Foundation, 'An Olympic Legacy for Women' will deliver a varied programme of information and discussion, encourage the expression of views and opinions, and start to influence the future direction of the legacy of a London Games in 2012. Topics will include:

  • Healthy Lifestyles
  • Environment & Transport
  • Enterprise & Employment
  • Education
  • Culture & Community

The seminar will take place at the Keyworth Centre, London South Bank University, from 10am until 1pm on Friday 10th December 2004. (Details of how to get to London South Bank University will be posted shortly)

An exciting line up of speakers is anticipated, and there will be regular programme updates on this website.
