WSF North West Region.About usThe WSF North West Regional (WSF NW) TeamThe North West Regional Team is made up of a team of volunteers who are supported by a newly appointed Regional Women's Development Officer (RWDO). WSF North West (WSF NW) Team is made up of an Executive Group, which is in turn ably supported by professionals and volunteers from across the Region.
The Executive group meet quarterly with and AGM held in September. The group also host an Annual Seminar. If you would like to get involved in supporting the WSF NW either by joining as part of the Executive or as an Active Member please contact Secretary Natalie Craig via email on Regional Equity Officer (Women & Girls Sport and Physical Activity - North West)Sarah Pickford started in post as Regional Women's Development Officer (RWDO) in April 2006 and is based at the GreaterSport offices in Manchester. Sarah' s post is funded by Sport England and her work programmes will be guided by the WSF and WSF NW as well as the North West Sports Equity Alliance (SEA). The aim of Sarah's post is to work on a strategic level to support the development of Women and Girls access to, participation, employment and leadership in sport and physical activity across the North West of England within the context of the Regional plan for sport and physical activity, "North West on the Move, 2004-2008".
Agencies contributing to the provision of Sport & Physical Activity for Women & GirlsThe North West Region is served by five County Sport Partnerships (CSPs). These Partnerships are made up of representatives from a range of sectors within and outside the sports industry including Local Authorities, Health, Education agencies and others and are charged with providing strategic leadership and guidance on matters relating to sport and physical activity across their area. County Sport Partnerships (CSPs) are seen nationally at the heart of the Single System for Sport and as such it is beneficial for anyone involved in the provision of sport and physical to have a basic knowledge of the CSPs and how they are being developed.
